The visible stainless steel screws, found along the seams of the aluminum panels, simulate the riveting found on the outer skin of the WWII fighter planes that are the inspiration for the design.  Padded brown leather strips on the arms of the chair and outside edges of the ottoman add both desirable detail and appeal to this aerodynamic set.
